BEZ Artist Biography

“Music can be your friend, sometimes.”

When you listen to The Music City Triumph, the latest solo record from Nashville, TN emcee BEZ (B-E-Z, not “Bezz”), you get the feeling that he is talking straight to you.  His hyperkinetic flow never sacrifices substance for style, yet it is packed with plenty of rhymes and real life experiences.  Over the course of eight tracks produced by It’s Like That Records co-founder Carmine Prophets, The Music City Triumph is the culmination of a life lived on the roads of the Dirty South.

Born in Columbus, GA, Brandon Evans was given the nickname “B-Easy” by his cousin “Diggy.”  Growing up, it was just him, his older brother Shawn, and their mother.  When times were hard, young BEZ turned to music for companionship.  He got his start performing in the church choir every Sunday.

BEZ was gravitating towards Hip-Hop, though, and he began to write his own lyrics after seeing his brother get accolades (and women) freestyling on street corners.  Brandon started a  band called Stereomonster, which gained a rabid following in the Southeast.  They performed at the famed SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX, as well as opening for acclaimed artists such as Foxy Shazam and Devin the Dude.

After a stint with the band Lucky Southern Devils, Brandon went solo and dropped Fountain City Classic, an album that chronicles the Exodus of an artist heading from Columbus, GA to the greener pastures of Nashville, TN.  BEZ is an artist who enjoys seeing the prosperity of himself and other artists, and the move to Music City paid off, as he found success and love in the “Athens of the South.”

Featuring like-minded Nashville artists Seene P and Odd Moon, The Music City Triumph is a victory lap, a celebration that signals the beginning of a new year for Brandon.  His goal is to inspire and bring joy to any town with a mic stand, so expect more shows and more flows from this up and coming emcee.  BEZ has arrived, and the Music City Triumph is only beginning!
